Article: A chat with Karen Dempsey Carney

Karen Dempsey Carney founder and owner-broker of Alliance Relocation has been helping clients successfully relocate from all over the world to communities throughout the Greater Boston area. Karen also assists in outgoing relocations around the country and to parts of Canada, Europe and Asia.

In addition to Alliance Relocation, she founded Alliance Home Loan, a residential mortgage company. Karen’s prior work experience includes; Citizens Bank where she was an account executive specializing in residential lending and the Boston Office of Hunneman Coldwell Banker where Karen was a top-producing residential real estate agent and where she started working with relocation clients.

Karen is a graduate of Boston University. She currently serves as a board member with the Friends of the Charlestown Navy Yard and has held prior board positions to include; The Town of Winchester Personnel Board, The Downtown Women’s Club, The Woman Business Founders (a chapter of the National Association for Female Executives) and has served on homeowner association boards.

Karen supports a number of charities and is especially passionate about The Friends of Boston’s Homeless, BUILD in Boston which provides under-served young people with educational resources and the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind. Karen has been certified as a level 1 professional ski instructor and has been a volunteer with the Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports program and Maine Handicapped Skiing.

ML brings over 20 years of advertising and creative strategy experience to the Alliance Team. A resident of Weston since 1993, she and her husband enjoy many aspects of this rural community including attending town meeting, buying organic vegetables at Land Sake and walking the many miles of conservation land. ML is actively engaged at her Armenian church in Cambridge and is presently on the Alumni Board of Directors for Bucknell University.
